Welcome to TIWIL (“we,” “our,” or “the App”). Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal and family information when you use our services.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
Your name, phone number, and profile picture. If you use Social Login such as Google, Facebook, or Apple, we collect basic profile details provided by those platforms.
Family & Demographic Data
While setting up events or adding family members, we collect your gender, date of birth, marital status, and details about your family members, including spouse, children, and parents. This may include their names, dates of birth, genders, and photos.
Event & Wishlist Data
Information regarding the events you create, invitee lists, wishlist items, and group pooling contributions.
Financial & Address Data
Bank details and address information necessary to manage contribution pools and process transactions.
Device and Usage Data
We may collect basic device and app information, including device type, operating system, app version, screen interactions, taps, navigation patterns, session duration, crash information, and technical logs. We use this information to analyse app usage, improve performance, identify errors, and enhance the user experience.
Contacts
If you choose to use features that help you find friends on TIWIL — such as Connections or Invite Friends — we will ask for your permission to access the contacts stored on your device. You are never required to grant this permission, and you can continue using the rest of TIWIL without it. What we access. When you grant permission, we read the name, phone number and email address of the contacts in your device's address book. Why we access it. This information is sent to our servers over a secure connection for one purpose only: to identify which of your contacts already have a TIWIL account, so that we can show them to you as existing users rather than as people to invite. What happens to it. Your contact information is used only to perform this match. It is compared against our existing user records, the results are returned to your device, and the uploaded information is then discarded. We do not store, retain or save your contacts in our database, we do not build a social graph from them, and we do not keep a record of who is in your address book. What is kept on your device. To avoid re-sending the same information repeatedly, the results of the match are stored locally on your own device. This information never leaves your device and is deleted when you log out of TIWIL or delete your account. What we never do. We never use your contacts for advertising or marketing. We never sell, rent or share them with any third party. We never contact anyone in your address book unless you explicitly choose to send them an invitation. Withdrawing permission. You can revoke contacts access at any time in your device settings. Doing so stops any further access immediately.
2. How We Use Your Information
To create and manage your account via OTP verification.
To accurately map your family profile and connections, including enforcing the 18-year age gap validation between users and parents.
To facilitate event creation, send invitations, and deliver notifications such as reminders, chat alerts, and pooling requests.
To process wishlist purchases and manage pool contributions.
3. Information Sharing
Other Users
Events and family profiles you create will be visible to your invitees and connections based on your permission settings. Pool contributors will see the pool’s progress and its members.
Third-Party Services
We share necessary information with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate the App, including SMS and email providers, payment and transaction service providers, hosting and infrastructure providers, and analytics providers such as Microsoft Clarity. These providers may process information only for the services they provide to TIWIL and subject to their applicable privacy and security obligations. Your device contacts are never shared with any third party.
Legal Requirements
We may disclose your information to law enforcement agencies if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
4. Analytics and Session Recording
We use Microsoft Clarity, a behavioural analytics service provided by Microsoft, to understand how users interact with the TIWIL app, diagnose technical issues, and improve app functionality and user experience.
Microsoft Clarity may process information such as device details, app version, screen navigation, taps, gestures, session duration, app performance, errors, and general location information such as country or region.
Clarity may generate session replays and interaction analytics. We configure masking controls to prevent sensitive information, including passwords, OTPs, bank details, payment information, addresses, private messages, children’s information, and other personal information, from being recorded.
Microsoft processes this information according to its own privacy terms. Where required by applicable law, analytics will be enabled only after obtaining the user’s consent.

5. Data Security & Retention
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal and family data.
You retain the right to delete your account at any time using the “Close Account” feature within the app.
Upon deletion, your data will be removed from our servers, except where retention is legally required.

6. Children’s Privacy & Dependent Data
When a user inputs information regarding minors, such as children’s names and birthdates, into their family profile, the user represents and warrants that they are the legal parent or guardian of that minor and explicitly consents to the collection and storage of this data for the purpose of family mapping and event management.
